Gisle Harrs kunstnerskap fokuserer på portrettet som tema, og han lager realistiske skulpturer i varierende størrelser og materialer som gips, bronse, epoxy, tre, ofte malt polykrome. Skulpturene inngår gjerne i større installasjoner og iscenesettelser. Skulpturene kan eksempelvis forestille hverdagsmennesker, historiske personer, lokale helter eller personer fra populærkulturen,

Mormor er første portrett i serien "Megasize", der tanken er å forstørre portrettskulpturer fra et lite format og plassere dem ulike steder i det offentlige rom, der publikum kan forholde seg til portrettskulpturene på en annen måte enn i et gallerirom. Skulpturen er utformet i samarbeid med Stor- Elvdal Fellesverksted for Treskulptur og Innovativ tre-arkitektur

Gisle Harr (f. 1966, Harstad) bor og jobber i Oslo. Han er utdannet ved Statens Kunstakademi (1998); Kunstakademiet i Budapest (1991); Statens Håndverks- og Kunstindustriskole (1993) og Oslo Tegne- og Maleskole (1988). Seneste separatutstillinger inkluderer Nils Aas Kunstverksted, Inderøy (2020); Galleri Blaker Skanse (2020); KHÅK Kunsthall, Ålesund (2018); Galleri 69, Oslo (2017); Trondhjems Kunstforening (2016) og Kunstnerforbundet, Oslo (2016). Verk har vært inkludert i gruppeutstillinger som Above us only sky, Nitja senter for samtidskunst, Lillestrøm (2021); On the Edge, Stavanger (2018) og Tegnebiennalen, Oslo (2016), Harr har den siste tiden også vært involvert i pilot- prosjektet 10 år på Heidal skule (2020) samt flere utsmykkingsprosjekter.

Gisle Harr focuses on the theme of portraits. He creates realistic sculptures in varying sizes and materials such as plaster, bronze, epoxy and wood, often painting them in polychrome and incorporating them into larger installations and staged settings. They can, for example, portray ordinary people, historical figures, local heroes or people known from popular culture.

 Grandmother is the first portrait in the series Megasize, the idea being to enlarge portrait sculptures from small to large formats and to place them in various public spaces where viewers can relate to them differently than if they were inside a gallery. The sculpture is made through collaboration with Stor- Elvdal Fellesverksted for Treskulptur og Innovativ tre-arkitektur (a centre for wood sculpture and innovative wood architecture).

Gisle Harr (b. 1966, Harstad) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Oslo (1994–98), the Hungarian Art Academy, Budapest (1990–91), the National College of Art and Design, Oslo (1991/93) and Oslo Drawing and Painting School (1985–88). His more recent solo exhibitions have been at (a selection) Nils Aas Kunstverksted, Inderøy (2020), Galleri Blaker Skanse (2020), KHÅK Kunsthall, Ålesund (2018), Galleri 69, Oslo (2017), Trondheims Kunstforening (2016) and Kunstnerforbundet, Oslo (2016). He has contributed to group exhibitions at Nitja Centre for Contemporary Art, Lillestrøm (2021), On the Edge, Stavanger (2018) and Tegnebiennalen, Oslo (2016). In recent years he has also been involved in the pilot project 10 Years at Heidal School (2020) and has produced several decorative commissions.
